Virginia Holman Biography
Virginia Holman is the recipient of a Pushcart Prize, a Roslynn Carter Mental Health Journalism Fellowship, and a North Carolina Arts Council grant. Rescuing Patty Hearst won the 2003 Outstanding Literature Award from the National Alliance for the Mentally Ill. She lives in Durham, North Carolina, where she is at work on a novel.

When Virginia Elizabeth Holman was born on 25 June 1867, her father, John Baptiste Holman or Houlmont, was 32 and her mother, Mary Jeanne Spirlet, was 28. She married Daniel Henry Sprinkle on 4 August 1889, in Perry, Indiana, United States. They were the parents of at least 4 sons and 4 daughters. She lived in Oil Township, Perry, Indiana, United States for about 30 years and Leopold Township, Perry, Indiana, United States for about 10 years. She died on 25 November 1922, at the age of 55, and was buried in Leopold Township, Perry, Indiana, United States.
