William Warren Conolly was born in East End on 5 December, The son of Austin and Adrienne Conolly, he grew up a devoted scholar, but a lack of funs thwarted his dream of obtaining a higher education. Instead, following in his father’s footsteps, he entered government service in as an elected member from East End, starting an illustrious public service career spanning three decades.
After a short stint in the American Merchant Marines immediately after World War II, Mr. Conolly returned to politics in as an elected member of Justices and Vestrymen. In he was a founding member of the Cayman Vanguard Party, which dissolved not long after. A year later, under the new Constitution, the Governor of Jamaica appointed him as a nominated member of the Legislative Assembly.
