Daddy Fresh

Daddy Fresh is a veteran Nigerian reggae singer from Abia state and was born in Lagos state Nigeria, Daddy Fresh started his musical career professionally in the mid-1980s. He was the founding member, leader, lead vocalist, and songwriter, of the group “DE Pretty Busy Boys” which comprises Daddy Showkey Cashman Davies and Sexy Pretty. He became famous in the late 1990s all over Nigeria. During this time, he was honored as the "King of the Ajegunle Musicians" for his innovation of a music genre known as galala or ghetto music. Ghetto music's development was not entirely his own, as it was also influenced by the work of Daddy Showkey and Baba Fryo.
His songs "Elerugbe erue", "Faka Fiki faka" and "Fiji fa" sold over 300 thousand units in Lagos state. Later, over 1 million of his songs were sold illegally by pirates at Alaba International Market.[1][2][3][4][5]

A veteran singer, Friday Igwe, aka Baba Fryo, says that inasmuch as October 1 is an important date in the history of Nigeria, he has never had a memorable Independence Day celebration.
In an interview with Sunday Scoop, he said, “I have never really had an interesting Independence Day celebration. There is no reality anymore, not even in the religious places, and our politicians are taking advantage of that.”

Baba Fryo born Friday Igweh is a veteran Nigerian singer from Ajegunle. He is known for releasing street songs. His most popular song in Nigeria was titled "Dem go dey pose" which he released in the late 1990s.[1] The song was written in Nigerian Pidgin, to become popular with a dancing style, known as Galala, invented by legendary Baba Fryo and his Ajegunle music colleagues such as Daddy Fresh, Daddy Showkey.[2][3][4]
Personal life
[edit]Baba Fryo said in 2017 that he wished he married a woman who is also in the showbiz business.
He lamented that had he married a celebrity like himself, his career wouldn't have declined as it did because the wife would have raised his career as well. He, however said much hard work has brought him back up on his 'feet'.[5]
