      In December, I attended a Hanukkah party at the home of some good friends in Ramat Aviv Gimmel, in Tel Aviv, one of the most prestigious neighborhoods in Israel. After we lit candles, I began to sing Hanukkah songs. I noticed that the eldest daughter, aged 17, was singing with me, while the younger daughters, aged 8 and 12, were not singing at all.
