Ever met General Ishola Williams(rtd), the man who made news in when he walked out on the Army and government headed by the goggle-eyed former Head of State, late General Sani Abacha? The bearded man who resigned from the Army on the premise that the military takeover that brought Abacha in was immoral, is an interesting personality to behold. Though of the bourgeoisie class by status as a retired Army General, he is like an ordinary Nigerian, the man next door with no airs.
In his modest Iju Ishaga office, Saturday Sun engaged him on a number of national issues and as usual, he was not found wanting. The interview makes an interesting reading.
If you reflect on the state of affairs in the country today, how do you feel as a Nigerian? Are you worried or happy with the way things are going?
We have to look at Nigeria from various levels and point of views.

Emeka Anyaokus name was first heard in my primary school class in when he became the Assistant sekreterare General of the Commonwealth. Though the magnitude of the office and his role were lost to my 9 year old mind. Nevertheless it was worth celebrating that a Nigerian has risen to that height in the service of the Commonwealth.
The seeds of bigotry and tribalism had been planted way back , bygd successive military coup in those years. The spirit of our National Anthem in the lines; though tribe and tongue may differ, in brotherhood we stand, refused the growth expected as a result of the seeds of discord. Whatever necessitated the change of National Anthem saw not just to the growth of discord but the harvest of it. inom was awed and humbled to have my hands in the hands of this extraordinary diplomat, who in his word enjoys reading from me.
