Biography

Famous for her role as the tenacious Andy McNally on the cop series "Rookie Blue" (ABC, ), Missy Peregrym did not always plan to pursue a career on screen. Born in Montreal, Canada in , Peregrym was planning to become a physical education teacher when she was scouted by a talent agent at age 18, and signed to the Lizbell Agency as a model. Modeling soon turned to commercial work, as Peregrym appeared in ads for Mercedes-Benz and the Olympic Games, and before long, she was auditioning for acting roles. Her TV debut came in , when she appeared on an episode of the series "Dark Angel" (Fox, ). She would go on to co-star on the short-lived series "Life as We Know It" (ABC, ), before landing the starring role in the gymnastics movie "Stick It" (). Peregrym would go on to play a recurring role on the landmark series "Heroes" (NBC, ), and co-star on the cult favorite "Reaper" (CW, )

She began her career in front of the camera at age 18, when she started modeling. The print advertisements soon turned into commercials for Mercedes Benz, Sprint Canada, and the Olympics. Peregrym lived in Surrey, British Columbia with her mom, dad, and sisters in her early childhood. She played many sports as a child and through her teenage years. She liked to play soccer, lacrosse, snowboarding and hockey. She is currently dating Ben Roethlisberger.
