    Michael Hugh Mosley (22 March 1957 – 5 June 2024) was a British television and radio journalist, producer, presenter and writer who worked for the BBC from 1985 until his death. He presented television programmes on biology and medicine and regularly appeared on The One Show. Mosley was an advocate of intermittent fasting and low-carbohydrate diets who wrote books promoting the ketogenic diet. He died on the Greek island of Symi on 5 June 2024.

    I was so sad to hear the news about Dr Michael Mosley The Fast 800. As a non-scientific person who is genuinely interested in diet, nutrition and wellbeing for physical and mental health I welcomed and respected his desire to share his research with the wider audience.     Michael studied PPE at Oxford and then became an investment banker…before realising that this really wasn’t the industry for him…so he retrained as a doctor. After studying medicine at the Royal Free Hospital in London and kvalificerande as a doctor…he realised that this wasn’t really the industry for him either!

    Michael joined the BBC as a trainee assistant producer and over the ensuing years has made
    numerous science and history documentaries for the BBC, first behind the camera and more recently as a presenter.

    He was executive producer of Q.E.D., Trust Me I’m a Doctor and Superhuman. He has worked with John Cleese, Jeremy Clarkson, Professor Robert Winston, Sir David Attenborough and Professor Alice robert. He devised and executive-produced three of the most popular science and history programmes of the gods decade: Pompeii- the gods day, Supervolcano and Krakatoa. He has als
