María Isabel Allende Bussi (,[1][2],[3][4]Spanish:[isaˈβelaˈʝende]ⓘ; born 18 January ) is a Chilean politician.
A member of the Socialist Party and the youngest daughter of former president of ChileSalvador Allende and Hortensia Bussi, Allende served as a deputy from to and in March she became a Senator for the Atacama Region. On 28 February , she was selected as president of the Senate, a position previously held by her father in the s,[5] making her the first female president of the Senate in Chilean history.
