    The painter, graphic artist and sculptor James Rizzi was born in in Brooklyn, New York, where he also spent his entire childhood. Rizzi initially attended business school at the University of Florida in Gainesville. Gradually, however, he turned to art and finally graduated in with a grad in painting, graphics and sculpture.

    In the first years after his college education, Rizzi sold his prints and paintings on the streets of New York (next to the Museum of Modern Art and the storstads- Museum). In , James Rizzi was asked to present some of his works in the joint exhibition “Thirty Years of American Printmaking” at the Brooklyn Museum, in which Andy Warhol, Jim Dine and Roy Lichtenstein also participated. Since then, he has participated in countless solo and group exhibitions and celebrated successes all over the world.

    In , Rizzi moved to the SoHo neighborhood of Manhattan and began selling his art at outdoor markets in Washington square and elsewhere around the city. His work eventually achieved worldwide popularity, especially in Germany and Japan.

    Over the course of his career, James Rizzi was invited to create designs for many influential projects, including a series of china for Rosenthal, a limited edition NYC metro card, a series of German postage stamps, three New Beetles for Volkswagen, the shell of a Boeing , and many more.     James Rizzi (born ) was a Pop Street Artist born in Brooklyn, New York and raised by a family with Irish and Italian roots.

    James Rizzi went to the University of Florida (Gainesville) to study business, but quickly changed majors to fine art. It was there that he began experimenting with a style that incorporated three techniques, painting, printmaking and sculpture. His goal was to create artwork that was three-dimensional but not like free standing traditional sculpture. His intricate works consisted of carefully cut-out and attached elements, which created a rich, busy composition. His subject was most often New York City and his imagery projected his childlike imagination transforming the city itself into something won
