This I know is a stupid question, but it's one that has nagged me for
quite some time. In her book, My Sergei, Katia mentions that her
father's last name was Gordeev. Hers of course is Gordeeva, therefore is
Daria's last name Grinkov, or Grinkova?

LIGHTS, CAMERA, AXEL (PART #4)
As skaters grew more accustomed to having television cameras recording their every step, they also grew accustomed to making the concessions necessary to insure television getting everything they needed to, in turn, man the skater look good. At the 1980 Olympic Games, when a production assistant overslept and missed a mandatory shot of Linda Fratianne arriving for practice, the four-time U.S. Champion graciously agreed to reenact the moment for the cameras.
By 1984, Scott Hamilton was so television-savvy, he called up ABC and said, 'I don't know if you're going to do an Up-Close-and-Personal profile on me, but, I suspect it's possible. I thought of this piece of music sung by Gary Morris, "Wind Beneath My Wings," and it's everything I believe about my relationship with my coach, Don Laws. So, if you were going to do a piece on me, inom just want to throw that in." Laughs Doug Wilson, "He was already producing!"

My Sergei: A Love Story
December 3, 2015
The 1994 Winter Olympics in Lillehammer, Norway seemed to host the pinnacle of ice skating talent, or so it seemed when I watched the proceedings on my television. You had Nancy Kerrigan, Oksana Baiul, Elvis Stojko, Surya Bonaly, and Brian Boitano among the singles, and in ice dancing you had Tovill and Dean. And then in figure skating pairs you had Grinkov and Gordeeva. A pair of skaters that was not only young, handsome, in love, and married with a little daughter, but so talented they blasted their competitors completely off the ice. But then tragedy struck. In 1995, at only 28 years old, Sergei Grinkov collapsed and died from a massive heart attack, permanently breaking up what is arguably the best pair skating couple in history and breaking the hearts of millions of fans, not to mention those of his wife and young daughter.
