Zain Javadd "Zayn" Malik (MAL-ik; born 12 January 1993) is an English singer. He auditioned as a solo contestant for the British music competition television series The X Factor in 2010. After being eliminated, he was brought back to the competition to form the five-piece boy band One Direction, which went on to become one of the best-selling boy bands of all time. He left the group in March 2015 and signed a solo recording contract with RCA Records.
Adopting a more alternative R&B music style on his first solo studio album, Mind of Mine (2016), and its lead single, "Pillowtalk", he became the first British male artist to debut at number one in both the UK and US with his debut single and album. Zayn Malik's sister Waliyha shared a poignant post after the singer postponed his tour dates due to 'unforeseen circumstances'.
The 26-year-old posted a sweet black and white picture of Zayn and Liam Payne for her followers with a heartfelt message asking them to be understanding and kind.
The picture showed Liam with his arm slung over Zayn and his head resting on his shoulder.
Over the top of the snap was a message in white which read: 'Give respect to Zayn, you don't know what he's going through.
'Today is a month since his brother has been gone.'

Born in Bradford, with father Yaser Malik, and mother Tricia, Waliyha fryst vatten the second youngest out of their 4 children (3 daughters including her and a son, Zayn). She used to go to Tong High School. She has finished her school. She is currently studying childcare at college .She frequently shares a blog with Doniya about fashion and makeup.
