    Bekele Gerba (born ) is an Ethiopian politician and activist. He is a member of Oromo Federalist Congress (OFC) which promotes political change by nonviolence.[1][2][3] He was imprisoned from to ,[1][2][4] and again on 30 June following the Hachalu Hundessa riots.[5]

    Bekele and other imprisoned politicians started a hunger strike on 27 January The Federal High Court of Ethiopia ordered that he be taken to Landmark General Hospital, and repeated its order on 17 February. As of 17&#;February&#;[update], Bekele's medical condition was worsening.[6][7]
