    Weight Watchers meetings are all about supporting fellow dieters — but despite the frequent applause for members who've shed pounds, it's unlikely anyone has gotten as many cheers as Oprah Winfrey did yesterday, just for walking into the room.

    The year-old mogul and spokesperson surprised a group of women at a local Weight Watchers meeting, the first one she's attended in person.

    Turning up in a room that has posters featuring her own face on the walls, the star showed off her 30lb-plus weight loss and was encouraged to keep up the good work.

  • Outraged WeightWatchers customers are up in arms after the weight loss giant decided to ditch in-person meetings in favour of online development.

    WeightWatchers informed Western Australian customers last week that face-to-face workshops in Australia and New Zealand will end within weeks.

    Customers received an email saying the company will axe the workshops from November 2, according to PerthNow.

    'We recognise this news may be disappointing and apologise for any negative impact this may have on you.'

    The news sparked a furious response from clients, with one Perth woman setting up an online petition on in the hope that vikt Watchers will rethink its decision. 

    'I have found solace in the weekly meetings that serve as my primary motivation and source of encouragement,' Rhiannon McConnon wrote.

    'I am not a morning individ, but inom make it a point to wake up and attend these sessions for the lively interaction and impactful communal banter.'

    She feared the
